Exciting Event Details, Ambitious AI Plans, and a Sweet Contest (Share to Win!)
Hey everyone,
Pardon the interruption to Honest AI’s regularly scheduled programming, dear readers.
I have been quite the busy bee with big happenings, so I want to share an update to let you know more!
Hear all about terrific speaking lineups (I hope to see you there!), a secret AI project that's been keeping me up at night, and a contest to help share a good dose of common sense about AI with the world.
Harvard /Online
First, I'll be giving a talk at the Digital Data Design Institute at Harvard Business School next week, on March 28th. The event is free and online. It is a great opportunity to hear me speak live. Click here to register for the event.
Italy /In Person
I'm also hitting the road for a couple of events in Italy next month (more details and links will follow):
April 20th in Macerata, evening hours
April 23rd in Rome, evening hours
For the Rome event, I'll have the honor of sharing the stage with Paolo Benanti. For those unfamiliar, Paolo is a renowned academic and AI ethicist who has authored several influential books and papers and advised the Italian and EU governments on the societal impacts of artificial intelligence. He coined the word ‘algorethics.’
AI Project
In other news, I'm supporting the project of a stealth startup at the intersection of AI, risk mitigation, and security. To make this a success, I need to connect with:
Ambitious, visionary investors (angel and seed funds) who are looking at the space and are comfortable with a large seed round on an AI lab (a $10M+ round, think of the early days of DeepMind)
CISOs at companies using AI models for mission-critical products/processes
If you fall into either of those categories and want to learn more, or can introduce me to relevant people, please reach out!
A Little Contest
Finally, I have an exciting announcement — we're kicking off a contest to get 1,000 Substack subscribers.
Share Honest AI and personally invite your friends/colleagues to follow along. The top 3 people who bring in the most new subscribers by April 5th, end of day (23:45 AoE) will win free books:
1st place: my Ethics of AI, Toby Walsh’s Faking It, and Luciano Floridi’s The Ethics Of Artificial Intelligence
2nd place: my The Ethics of AI, Toby Walsh’s Faking It,
3rd place: my The Ethics of AI.
Thanks as always for your support. Let's hit that 1,000 subscriber milestone together 🙌!
